In pricing your Mustang of course.

First step is to go to !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , because high taxes in No.

Then we go to Bygg din egen Ford and go for the 5.0 Manuell because lots of CO2 and add all the extras including Premium Skinn Ebony (don’t accept just basic skinn) and here we are with our spesifisering.

NOK 1,322,800 converts to €142,340 and rather more in US$. It includes taxes so there’s that.

Know of a higher price? Find it.

No, couldn’t do it. Very few options on the Mustang. Only paint, custom pack, alarm and stripes. Oh, and a GT manual convertible. Because CO2 tax (€76k on this car, in my country), just like you mentioned. Total sum: €128389

€76k for taxes? That’s insane. No wonder you guys drive small engine cars. There was a $1k gas guzzler tax on my M3 which was a one time tax paid for buy the original buyer.

Interestingly, my local price (with a different choice of colours and options for some reason but the skinn - er, leather - is standard.

A bargain.

No, €76k in CO2 (read: gas guzzler) tax. There’s regular VAT as well. This too is a one time tax, to be paid by the first owner. It’s rather exponential, on the manual Boostang coupe the CO2 tax is ‘only’ €15k.

Note: the Netherlands only.

Leather in standard, the premium leather is included in the custom pack. You’ll see no additional price in my screenshot with the leather.

We don’t get your fancy premium leather at any price. We don’t get the particular shade of red that the Norwegians get either. No, I’ve no idea.

€15k is still a lot for a CO2 tax

This is true. I wish it wasn’t as high, if at all. Having said that, it is effective in limiting (purely theoretical) emissions as the result of the tax is that people buy cars that are as frugal (on paper) as possible within the desired class of vehicle.

So, while I don’t like the tax, it actually works as designed, unlike a $1k tax on an M3 which has close to zero effect on purchase decisions.
